Fun Teaser Trailer For LISA FRANKENSTEIN Sees Kathryn Newton Bring a Handsome Corpse Back to Life
Focus Features has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming horror comedy film Lisa Frankenstein, which comes from writer Diablo Cody (Juno, Jennifer’s Body) and director Zelda Williams, the daughter of Robin Williams. This playful horror movie actually looks like it’ll be fun!
The movie stars Kathryn Newton (Freaky) as an unpopular high school teen who reanimates a corpse, played by Cole Sprouse (Riverdale), during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams using the broken tanning bed in her garage.
The movie is set in 1989, and the synopsis reads: “A coming of RAGE love story about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness… and a few missing body parts along the way.”
Williams is making her directorial debut with the film and has described it as a "bonkers, wonderful zombie" film. She added: "I know Hollywood gets a bad rep for regurgitating sequels and remakes and reboots over and over and over… and yeah, it totally does that! But it's also finally letting me make the most bonkers, wonderful zombie script I've ever read, and for that, I will be forever grateful!"
The film also stars Carla Gugino (The Fall of the House of Usher), Liza Soberano (Alone/Together), Joe Chrest (Stranger Things) and Henry Eikenberry (The Crowded Room).
Lisa Frankenstein comes to theaters on February 9, 2024.
