Cool Teaser Trailer for Zack Snyder's ARMY OF THE DEAD
Netflix has released the first teaser trailer Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, giving us our first look at the zombie apocalypse heist film the filmmaker has been developing. I love the concept of this film, and it looks like it’s gonna be a blast! Snyder obviously had a lot of fun with the development of Army of the Dead and this is gonna be one wild and crazy movie!
The story follows a group of mercenaries into a zombie-infested Las Vegas as they try to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted. It’s set amid “a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.“
The story will focus on one “capable hero who assembles a team of undesirables to infiltrate an impregnable fortress (in this case, a Las Vegas casino) during an undead uprising.” That hero is played by none other than Dave Bautista, and he will be joined by Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Huma Qureshi, Omari Hardwick, Tig Notaro, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Matthias Schweighöfer, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, and Samantha Win.
It’s also explained that “a plague has been released from Nevada's secretive Area 51 military base. The U.S. government has managed to contain the outbreak by building a wall around an overrun Sin City. But there's still all that cash in zombie-infested casinos, if only somebody is brave (or dumb) enough to try to go and get it.”
When previously talking about the film, Snyder said, "It is a full-blown, balls-to-the-wall zombie heist movie, so it's genre-on-genre in a great way. So you expect pure zombie mayhem, and you get that, 100 percent. But also you get these really amazing characters on a fantastic journey. It's going to surprise people that there's a lot of warmth and real emotion with these great characters."
Army of the Dead hits Netflix on May 21st, 2021.
