Fun Trailer and Poster for Coming of Age Battle of the Bands Netflix Comedy METAL LORDS

A fun new trailer and poster have been released for a Netflix original movie that follows some metal-loving band nerds as they decide to form a rock band of their own and join the battle of the bands. Metal Lords is written by D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones), and directed by Peter Sollett (Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Freeheld). The cast includes Jaeden Martell (It, Knives Out, Defending Jacob), Isis Hainsworth (Emma.), and newcomer Adrian Greensmith, as well as Sufe Bradshaw, Noah Urrea, Analesa Fisher, Michelle Fang, Phelan Davis, with Brett Gelman, and Joe Manganiello.

Here’s the synopsis:

Two kids want to start a heavy metal band in a high school where exactly two kids care about heavy metal. Hunter (Adrian Greensmith) is a diehard metal fan —is there any other kind?— who knows his history and can shred. His dream in life is to win at the upcoming Battle of the Bands. He enlists his best friend Kevin (Jaeden Martell) to man the drums. But with schoolmates more interested in Bieber than Black Sabbath, finding a bassist is a struggle. Until Kevin overhears Emily (Isis Hainsworth) slaying on her cello. The motley crew must contend with school, parents, hormones and teen angst while trying to get along long enough for Skullf*cker to win the Battle of the Bands.

This looks like a really cute movie with a solid premise. It has a bit of a School of Rock vibe, but feels like they’re trying to push the boundary a lot harder. Check out the trailer and poster and see what you think. Metal Lords is set to drop on Netflix on April 8th.
