Fun Trailer For Adam Sandler's Coming-of-Age Comedy YOU ARE SO NOT INVITED TO MY BAT MITZVAH
Netflix has released the first trailer for Adam Sandler’s upcoming film You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah. This is a coming-of-age comedy-drama that centers on lifelong friends Stacy and Lydia who are planning their dream bat mitzvahs.
However, after Lydia discovers Stacy has started dating a boy she has a crush on, the friendship ends and they have to navigate their teenage girl emotions. I’ve seen this same kind of drama unfold with my own teenage girls over the years.
Adam Sandler plays the father of one of the girls and I can definitely relate to what he’s going through as this all plays out around him. The looks of confusion on his face are the same looks that I have had. Idina Menzel also stars in the movie.
The synopsis reads: “Stacy and Lydia are BFFs who’ve always dreamed about having epic bat mitzvahs. But things start to go comically awry when a popular boy and middle school drama threatens their friendship and their rite of passage.”
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah is an adaptation of Fiona Rosenbloom’s coming-of-age novel. It is directed by Sammi Cohen and written by Alison Peck.
The film also stars Jackie Sandler, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, who I assume are Sandler’s actual kids, along with Samantha Lorraine, Dylan Hoffman, Sarah Sherman, Dan Bulla, Ido Mosseri, Jackie Hoffman, and Luis Guzman.
The movie is set to premiere on August 25, 2023.
