A fun trailer has been released for the animated feature film Charlie the Wonder Dog, with Owen Wilson voicing the title character.

The cast also includes Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez, Anthony Bolognese, and Mela Pietropaolo. The film is directed by Shea Wageman (Rocket Club: Across the Cosmos, Assassin's Creed III video game) from a screenplay co-written by Wageman, Raul Inglis, and Steve Ball.

The synopsis reads: “Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! From Viva Kids comes Charlie the Wonderdog: a new animated family film starring Owen Wilson as the voice of Charlie, a lovable dog who discovers he has superpowers!

“When Danny's best friend is mysteriously abducted by aliens, he returns home with incredible abilities and a mission to protect the people he loves. But when the world needs him most, Charlie learns true heroism isn't about strength... it's about courage, kindness, and believing in yourself.”

This looks like a fun movie to watch with the family just after the holiday rush. Check out the trailer below, and watch Charlie the Wonder Dog in theaters everywhere on January 16, 2026.
