Fun Trailer for Documentary THE LAST BLOCKBUSTER Offers a Nostalgic Look Back at Video Rentals

We’ve got a really fun trailer for you to check out for a documentary called The Last Blockbuster, about the last Blockbuster video store that is located in Bend, Oregon. This is a crowdfunded film from PopMotion Pictures that takes a look into the people who own and run this video store, while interviewing celebrities who reminisce about what it was like growing up with video stores at their disposal.

I know my childhood was spent at the video store every weekend, checking out the latest movies and being able to browse the classics. I checked out Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Harold and Maude more times than I can count. I loved it dearly.

The Last Blockbuster is a fun, nostalgic look back at the era of video rentals and the story of how one small town video store managed to outlast a corporate giant. The film follows the manager of the world's last remaining Blockbuster video (located in Bend, OR), Sandi Harding, as she navigates the difficult task of keeping a video rental store open in the era of Netflix.

The Last Blockbuster is set to premiere on Friday, May 8 at the Tower Theater in Bend. After the screening, there will be an afterparty held at the Blockbuster in Bend. Tickets for the event are on sale today. The film is directed by Taylor Morden, and it looks like he created something pretty fun and special. Check out the trailer below, and let us know your favorite memory of the good ol’ days at the video store.
