Fun Trailer for Michael B. Jordan's Animated Buddy Comedy Film SWAPPED
Netflix just rolled out the official trailer for Swapped, and it looks like a chaotic, funny, and surprisingly heartfelt animated ride. It’s one of those weirdly charming buddy comedies that leans into its absurd premise.
At the center of the story are two natural enemies forced into the worst possible situation… living each other’s lives. A small woodland creature named Ollie, voiced by Michael B. Jordan, and a majestic bird named Ivy, voiced by Juno Temple, magically swap bodies.
Feathers and fur get completely mixed up, and now they have no choice but to team up if they want to survive the unpredictable dangers of The Valley.
The trailer makes it clear the movie is leaning hard into both comedy and adventure. Watching these two sworn enemies stumble through each other’s worlds looks like it leads to plenty of ridiculous situations, while also setting up a story about understanding someone else’s perspective. And sure, maybe not eating each other along the way.
The voice cast adds even more personality to the mix, with Tracy Morgan, Cedric the Entertainer, Justina Machado, Ambika Mod, and Lolly Adefope all jumping in.
The film is directed by Nathan Greno, who previously helmed Tangled, so there’s already a strong track record when it comes to blending humor, emotion, and big animated spectacle.
Greno shared a bit about what they were going for with the film, saying: "Swapped is an unpredictable, emotional ride — full of humor, spectacle, and heart. We [pulled] from live-action nature documentaries, exploring the complexity of a wild ecosystem to capture something that feels vibrant and deeply human."
The film is produced by John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews, with music by Siddhartha Khosla, the project comes out of Skydance Animation and lands on Netflix just in time to kick off the summer movie season at home.
The film hits streaming worldwide on May 1, 2026.
