Fun Trailer for the Animated Comedy STITCH HEAD Starring Asa Butterfield
The trailer fhas been released for the animated adventure comedy Stitch Head, and it looks like a perfect Halloween treat. Based on the popular graphic novel series by Guy Bass, the film comes from director Steve Hudson and co-director Toby Genkel.
The story follows Stitch Head, the first monster ever created by a Mad Professor, who has the thankless job of keeping the castle’s other monstrous experiments in line so the townsfolk of Grubbers Nubbin don’t rise up against them.
The movie promises a heartfelt spin on the Frankenstein tale with plenty of weird and wonderful creatures, colorful humor, and themes of friendship.
“High above the little town of Grubbers Nubbin, in a castle laboratory, the maddest of all mad professors brings monstrous creations to (almost) life... and then promptly forgets all about them. So, who runs the castle? Who keeps the monsters in line, so the townsfolk don’t form an angry mob?
“That job falls to Stitch Head - the professor's very first creation. He does it all, unnoticed and unthanked. But when a ramshackle freak show rolls into town, its sly owner, Fulbert Freakfinder, comes knocking, offering Stitch Head fame, fortune... and maybe even love. A whimsical, heartfelt twist on the Frankenstein legend.”
Stitch Head features the voice of Asa Butterfield as the lead alongside Joel Fry, Alison Steadman, Rob Brydon, Fern Brady, Tia Bannon, and Jamali Maddix. Hudson, who previously directed Co/Ma and True North, both writes and directs the film with production by Sonja Ewers and Mark Mertens.
The trailer teases a spooky yet sweet animated comedy full of misfit monsters who aren’t nearly as scary as they seem. Briarcliff will release Stitch Head in theaters nationwide on October 29, 2025.
