Funko Games has announced some exciting new games as part of Gencon. First in the line up we have The Warriors: Come Out and Play. Based on the 1979 cult classic, this cooperative game will have players navigate New York’s subway to get back to their home turf of Coney Island while trying to prove their innocence in the murder of Cyrus. Deirdre Cross, Vice President at Funko Games, says:

“The Warriors is one of those films with a devoted fan base 40 years later, who quote every line and nerd out on the peculiar gangs – Baseball Furies, the Punks, and High Hats. We have reimagined all the familiar elements from the movie, including the evocative radio DJ, memorable characters and iconic gangs. Prospero Hall’s inventive gameplay and original artwork bring the film’s gritty aesthetic to life, creating an experience that is worthy of the most ardent Warriors’ fan.”

This game will be released in early 2022 for an MSRP of $24.99 and is available to pre order now.

Next up is an expansion for The Goonies: Never Say Die, The Goonies: Under the Goondocks. This is exciting as I enjoyed this game and now you will be able to play as Andy, Brand, and Stef with three new adventures and new treasures. You can pick this up at Target this holiday for an MSRP of $14.99.

The announcement that intrigues me the most is their new Jurassic Park themed legacy game. There isn’t much information yet, not even a title, but we’re told that the campaign of the game will take players through the entire franchise and beyond.

Do you think that means we’ll have a moment where blowing through a velociraptor skull will help save the day? Or maybe players will have to stop a t-rex from wrecking San Diego? There've been lots of great and silly moments in the Jurassic Park franchise so it’ll be interesting to see what they choose to include and what will get ignored.

The game will be formally unveiled in 2022, so if you are a fan of legacy games and Jurassic Park, this is one to keep an eye out for.
