Funny and Sweet Trailer for Family Dramedy ABOUT MY FATHER Starring Robert De Niro

A funny and heartwarming trailer has been released for the family dramedy About My Father, starring Oscar-winner Robert De Niro and comedian Sebastian Maniscalco as father and son. The film is directed by Laura Terruso (I Want My Phone Back, Good Girls Get High) from a screenplay written by Maniscalco and Austen Earl. De Niro and Maniscalco are joined in the cast by Leslie Bibb as Ellie, Kim Cattrall as Tigger, Brett Dier as Doug Collins, Anders Holm as Lucky Collins, and David Rasche as Bill.

The synopsis for the film reads:

“The film centers around Sebastian (Maniscalco) who is encouraged by his fiancée (Leslie Bibb) to bring his immigrant, hairdresser father, Salvo (De Niro), to a weekend get-together with her super-rich and exceedingly eccentric family. The weekend develops into what can only be described as a culture clash, leaving Sebastian and Salvo to discover that the great thing about family is everything about family.”

This looks like it’s going to be a really fun movie! It sort of reminded me of Meet the Parents, but in reverse, less cringey, and also starring Robert De Niro! I am looking forward to watching this, as I love a good comedy, and De Niro always turns in a great performance. Check out the trailer below, and watch About My Father in theaters on May 26th.
