Funny NSFW Trailer for Jake Johnson's Animated Basketball Series HOOPS
Netflix has shared a new trailer for its adult-themed animated basketball comedy series Hoops. This is definitely a NSFW trailer as it’s filled with vulgar language. This is definitely not a kids series, but it certainly looks like it will be a funny and entertaining show for adults!
Jake Johnson plays a terrible horrible high school basketball coach named Ben Hopkins, who has no basketball skills and is pretty much an asshole. The character is described as “a hot-headed, foul-mouthed, pathetic and angry high school basketball coach.” He thinks that he thinks that turning around his god-awful team will “take him to the ‘big leagues’ and turn his miserable life around.” He’s desperate to prove himself, but “always looking for an easy way to get the job done.”
Johnson is joined by Rob Riggle as Barry Hopkins, Natasha Leggero as Shannon, Ron Funches as Ron, Cleo King as Opal, and A.D. Miles as Matt. It will also feature the voices of Nick Swardson, Gil Ozeri, Max Greenfield, Steve Berg, and Sam Richardson.
Hoops is being executive produced by Hoffman and Johnson along with Seth Cohen, M. Dickson, Phil Lord, and Chris Miller.
The 10-episode first season will premiere on Netflix on Friday, August 21st.
