Funny Trailer for R-Rated Buddy Comedy ONE OF THEM DAYS Starring Keke Palmer and SZA
A funny new trailer has been released for the R-rated buddy comedy, One of Them Days, starring Keke Palmer (Nope) and Grammy-winning R&B artist SZA in her acting debut.
Lawrence Lamont makes his feature directorial debut, helming a script by Syreeta Singleton. The project comes from Issa Rae‘s banner Hoorae. Singleton and Lamont first collaborated on the set of Rae’s hip-hop drama Rap Sh!t, where Singleton was the showrunner and Lamont served as director for a handful of episodes.
The film’s synopsis reads: “Best friends and roommates Dreux (Keke Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) are about to have one of them days.
“When they discover Alyssa’s boyfriend has blown their rent money, the duo finds themselves going to extremes in a comical race against the clock to avoid eviction and keep their friendship intact.”
The trailer shows the lengths the two friends go to for their rent money, including donating blood, climbing a telephone pole to retrieve a pair of Jordans, and applying for a loan despite a hilariously low credit score.
Palmer and SZA are joined in the cast by Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Maude Apatow, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott and Patrick Cage, as well as Dewayne Perkins, Amin Joseph, Gabrielle Dennis and DomiNque Perry.
Palmer and SZA first joined forces on Saturday Night Live in a December 2022 episode. Palmer was the host and SZA was the musical guest.
This looks like it’s going to be a great comedy to enjoy this winter. Check out the trailer below, and watch One of Them Days in theatres on January 24th.
