FX Renews AMERICAN HORROR STORY For Three More Seasons and Sarah Paulson Will Return Next Season
FX sure does love its American Horror Story franchise! They love it so much that they’ve renewed it for three more seasons, which would take it all the way to Season 13! For the most part, I’ve enjoyed this series and the creepy and strange horror stories that it’s told.
Creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk will stick with the anthology series, which just concluded its ninth season with American Horror Story: 1984, which was influenced by the classic slasher films of the 80s.
The deal was announced by John Landgraf, Chairman of FX Networks and FX Productions at the Winter TCA press tour, and he said this in a statement:
“Ryan and Brad are the undisputed masters of horror TV, having created the anthological limited series with American Horror Story and sustaining its success for nearly a decade as FX’s highest-rated series. We are grateful to them and Dana Walden and our studio partners for committing to another three years. AHS has showcased a wealth of award winning actors since day one and we appreciate the contributions of everyone, including Ryan, Brad and fellow executive producers Tim Minear, James Wong, Alexis Martin Woodall and Bradley Buecker, the writers, directors, cast and crew for each new, unforgettable installment of American Horror Story.”
It’ll be interesting to see what Murphy and Falchuk will end up bringing to the anthology series with these next three seasons. One thing we do know is that Sarah Paulson will return to the franchise next season. She confirmed to The Wrap, “I can confirm that I will be in next season.” She added, “I have no idea what it will be… But I’m not coming back as a guest part, I will be a central character.”
