FX's Award-Winning Drama THE BEAR Will End With Its Fifth Season

FX has confirmed that their award-winning series The Bear will end with its upcoming fifth season. The studio had not yet released the news, but confirmed when actress Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays the Berzatto family matriarch, recently posted a photo of herself with Abby Elliott, who plays Curtis’s daughter, Carmy’s sister Natalie ‘Sugar’ Berzatto, and co-owner of the restaurant at the center of the show.

Curtis’s Instagram post read, “FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with. Got to finish it out with my baby Berzatto bear.”

Spoiler Alert: But for those who are caught up on season 4, this may not come as much of a shock, seeing as the finale revealed that Jeremy Allen White’s character Carmy Berzatto tells Syd (Ayo Edebiri), and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) that he’s leaving the restaurant and signing over his stake of the restaurant.

The show, which was created by Christopher Storer, also stars Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson, with Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon in recurring roles.

I am bummed to hear this news, as The Bear is one of my favorite shows, but it feels like most great series these days know when their stories are ready to wrap up, and I have to respect them finishing strong.

I look forward to seeing how they end this great show. Season 5 is expected to be released sometime later this year.
