Gal Gadot Says She Almost Played Furiosa in MAD MAX: FURY ROAD

Had Charlize Theron turned down the part of Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road the part would have gone to Gal Gadot. That's how close she was to landing the role. In the end, the studio wanted to go with the A-list star who was more well-known. You know, a bigger box office draw. Gadot talked about almost playing the badass character while a guest on THR's Awards Chatter podcast:

"I was runner-up for Mad Max with Charlize [Theron]."

She went on to talk about how all these close calls almost made her want to give up on acting because there was a lot going on in her life and the pressure was building. 

"I had so many almosts for big, great things. But I was never big enough of a name. It was always me and the big name [actress]. By then, I was married and I already had my first daughter, and going back and forth from Israel, and dragging everyone with me, and trying and feeling the pressure of 'I'm coming here, now I've gotta book something! I've gotta get a role in something because we're here.'"

Personally, I loved Theron in the role of Furiosa, she was freakin' perfect for the part! Even knowing what Gadot is capable of and she could probably pull it off, it's hard to imagine her in the role. It's ok, though, because in the end, she landed the Wonder Woman gig! No Gadot will never have to worry about not landing another acting job again because she is the A-list star that can bring in the big box office draw.
