Gal Gadot Set to Star in a Remake of Alfred Hitchcock's TO CATCH A THIEF
Alfred Hitchcock’s classic 1955 film To Catch a Thief is getting the remake treatment, and Gal Gadot is set to star in and produce the crime thriller.
The original movie starred Cary Grant and Grace Kelly, and the story followed notorious cat burglar John Robie, who has long since retired to tend vineyards on the French Riviera. “When a series of robberies is committed in his style, John must clear his name. Armed with a list of people who own the most expensive jewels currently in the area, John begins following the first owner, young Francie. When her jewels are stolen, Francie suspects John, destroying their tentative romance. John goes on the lam to catch the thief and clear his own name.”
I assume Gadot will take on the role that Grace Kelly played. The original film is great, and it’ll be interesting to see how this remake turns out. Can Paramount Pictures produce a better version of the film than Hitchock? I personally don’t think so, but we’ll see.
The script for the movie is being written by Eileen Jones (Prodigal Son) and I imagine that the film will be updated for modern audiences.
This does seem like the kind of project that Gadot would gravitate towards. I like her as an actress and regardless of how the film turns out, I’m sure she’ll at least be great in it.
Gadot’s recent projects include Netflix’s action crime movie Red Notice. She will next be seen in the adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile, and she is playing the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White.
