GAME OF THRONES Actor Jerome Flynn Joins Amazon's THE DARK TOWER Series

We’ve got some more casting news regarding Amazon’s highly anticipated series adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower.

While speaking with The Mirror, Games of Thrones actor Jerome Flynn announced that he has been cast in fantasy western series saying:

“Game of Thrones has opened doors to some great stuff. I’m getting offered stuff I never would have.”

The report goes on to say that he will play a cowboy in the dramatization of King’s epic series. Jerome went on to say:

“I’ve always said I’d like to play a cowboy – and now one has come along. I’m excited for that.”

Flynn is a great actor who will join the previously cast Sam Strike (Nightflyers, Mindhunter), who has been cast in the role of Roland Deschain, a.k.a. The Gunslinger, and Jasper Pääkkönen (BlacKkKlansman, Vikings) who was was cast as Randall Flagg, a.k.a. The Man in Black.

The series will tell the story of “how Roland became a gunslinger and his first encounter with the villainous Man in Black.” It was previously said that the series will put the focus on “Roland Deschain, a young boy from a long line of ‘gunslingers’, and his ‘ka-tet’ comprised of Cuthbert Allgood, Alain Johns, Ileen Ritter and Jamie De Curry in addition to his girlfriend, Susan Delgado.”

It’s also explained that “Marten Broadcloak will serve as the series antagonist and his affair with Roland’s mother, Gabrielle, will factor heavily into the plot. Her affair incites Roland to pick up his guns in a search for Broadcloak and sets his father, Steven, on a mission to find him. At this time, no offers have been made to talent, but the cast should begin to assemble quickly.”

The show is being developed by Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead), Akiva Goldsman (Titans, Star Trek: Discovery) and Stephen King. They are still in the process of assembling their cast and are looking to start shooting in mid-April in Croatia, where the series is expected to film until late-June.

I can’t wait to see how this series turns out!
