Game of Thrones actor Jacob Anderson has signed on to star in AMC’s upcoming series adaptation of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire. He will take on the role of Louis and will star opposite Sam Reid, who is playing Lestat. Louis is the character who was played by Brad Pitt in the movie. Anderson seems like a solid fit for the character.

AMC is looking to build a multiple-show universe around Anne Rice’s novels and Interview With the Vampire will launch it. The story centers on the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he relates the story of his life to a reporter, in particular how he was turned into a vampire and then mentored by Lestat de Lioncourt.

The network ordered an eight-episode first season of Interview With The Vampire, and they plan to launch the series in 2022. Rolin Jones (Perry Mason) will serve as showrunner on the series. AMC veteran Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad, Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul/El Camino, Halt and Catch Fire and Rectify) will also executive produce alongside Jones. Johnson will also oversee the Vampire franchise. Anne Rice and Christopher Rice are also executive producers.

The series is set to premiere on AMC and its sister streamer AMC+ in 2022.
