GAME OF THRONES Confirmed Not To Return Until in 2019
We've been hearing for months that Game of Thrones Season 8 probably wouldn't premiere until 2019. Just in case you were holding out for a chance that it might premiere this year, you can throw those hopes away.
HBO issued a short announcement confirming that the final six episodes of Game of Thrones won't start airing until 2019. As of right now, there's no specific release date. Where just going to have to accept this, hunker down, be patient, and wait.
It's ok, though! Series creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss previously explained they planned to spend a year and a half crafting the final episodes of the series because they to make sure the finale delivers a spectacular and satisfying ending for the fans. If they deliver that, it will be well worth the wait.
The directors who will be working on Season 8 include showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik. The writers are Benioff and Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill.
HBO is also currently developing several possible prequel series. I just can't wait to see how this story comes to a close! It's been such an awesome, intense, brutal, and epic journey!
