GAME OF THRONES Season 8 Episodes Could Be Feature Length!

A potentially big announcement came at the first Game of Thrones fan convention in Nashville. Con of Thrones, wrapped up after a weekend of buildup for the premiere of the seventh season on HBO on July 16th. One of the biggest bits of info to come out of the con is that episodes could be getting much longer in the show's final season.

With only seven episodes scheduled for the upcoming season and just six for the yet-to-be-produced final Season 8, Deadline reports the episode length will probably be in the range of 80-plus minutes next season. The show's sound designer Paula Fairfield said Season 7 episodes will be their customary hour-long duration, but the finale of Season 7 runs at 82 minutes. In Season 8, the episodes may be 80-minutes or more.
