GAME OF THRONES Season 8 Will Reportedly Premiere in Early 2019 and Will Not Be Delayed
Over the weekend it was being reported all over the place that the premiere of Games of Thrones Season 8 would be delayed to mid-2019 making it not eligible for Emmys until 2020. Well, according to Entertainment Weekly, that's not the case.
They say that Games of Thrones Season 8 will premiere in the first half of 2019 so that it will be eligible for the 2019 Emmy Awards. For a show to be eligible, it will have to air before May 31st, 2019.
So, if HBO is looking to be eligible for the 2019 Emmys, all six episodes will have to air before May 31st. That means the latest that Game of Thrones can premiere is mid-April. That's in line with six of the previous seven seasons of the show, which either premiered in March or April.
It's good to hear that we might not have to wait until late 2019 for the final season of this epic fantasy series! I can't wait to see how this story ends!
