GAME OF THRONES Star Sophie Turner Joins Heist Thriller Series HAVEN for Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video is teaming up with the UK production company Drama Republic for a heist thriller series titled Haven, and Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is set to star in the project.
Turner will be joined in the series by Saltburn actor Archie Madekwe, and Bodies actor Jacob Fortune-Lloyd.
The project is described as a high-octane contemporary series, and in the story Turner will play Zara, “an office worker at pension fund investment company Lochmill Capital.
“Zara has her day upended when a gang of violent thieves burst in demanding she helps them steal billions of pounds of ordinary people’s pensions.”
Madekwe will play Zara’s best friend Luke, while Fortune-Lloyd will play DCI Rhys, “a detective with a recently relapsed gambling problem who must keep his own money troubles at bay as he examines the Lochmill Capital crime.”
The series comes from writer S.A. Nikias, who is best known for the City Blues Quartet crime novels that he wrote under the pseudonym of Ray Celestin.
The first three episodes of the series will be directed by I May Destroy You director Sam Miller, who will also serve as executive producer.
Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, said that Haven is a “uniquely thrilling ride” that will provide a “gripping, addictive, entertaining” story for Prime Video subscribers.
Drama Republic’s Rebecca de Souza and Greg Brenman said they were “astonished” by Nikias’ debut script. “His rollercoasting, nail-biting and funny scripts have quite rightly attracted a tremendous cast and top-tier creative team.”
