GAME OF THRONES Stars Kit Harington and Sophie Turner Start Gagging After Awkward Kiss in THE DREADFUL Outtake

Fans of Game of Thrones got a hilarious reminder that some on-screen relationships are hard to shake. Kit Harington and Sophie Turner, who famously played Jon Snow and Sansa Stark, are back together in the new horror film The Dreadful, and a behind-the-scenes clip from the movie is cracking people up online.

In the outtake, Harington and Turner share a dramatic kiss for a scene. The second the director calls “cut,” the moment completely falls apart.

They instantly burst into laughter and start gagging, clearly unable to handle the fact that they once played relatives in Westeros. The clip has blown up on X, and fans revel in the awkwardness.

It’s a funny callback to their time on Game of Thrones, where Jon Snow and Sansa Stark were raised as half-siblings at Winterfell. Of course, longtime viewers know the truth got a lot more complicated.

Jon was secretly the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, making him Sansa’s cousin, not her brother. Still, that family dynamic apparently lingers just enough to make a romantic scene hilariously uncomfortable.

The Dreadful, directed by Natasha Kermani, trades swords and dragons for something much darker. Set in the 15th century, the horror story centers on Anne, played by Turner, and her mother-in-law Morwen, two women living on the fringes of society. Their fragile world is shaken when a man from their past resurfaces, dragging old secrets with him.

The film also stars Marcia Gay Harden, known for Mystic River, and Laurence O'Fuarain from The Gentlemen.

It’s wild to think it’s been nearly seven years since Game of Thrones wrapped its eight-season run. Westeros hasn’t gone anywhere, though. The franchise continues with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is finishing up its first season this week, and House of the Dragon season three heading back into the chaos of the Targaryen civil war this summer.

But right now, it’s Harington and Turner stealing the spotlight again, this time for a kiss they clearly couldn’t take seriously.

The Dreadful hits theaters on February 20.
