GEARS 5 Launches Operation 5 Update with New Characters and Quality of Life Updates
Gears 5 fans were recently given a big gift. Operation 5: Hollow Storm is the biggest content release for the popular game since its launch and oh boy, is there stuff to enjoy. There are seven characters, five maps, and 13 achievements added to the game as well as the return of the Scorcher. In addition, characters are no longer tied to classes, meaning you can play any character as any class in the Horde and Escape game modes.
The seven new characters are Dizzy Wallin and Tai Kaliso from Gears of War 2 as well as Anya Stroud, Lambent Drone, Lambent Grenadier, and Lambent Theron Guard from Gears of War 3. The five maps include the brand-new Nexus and Regency maps in addition to Gridlock, Clocktower, and River. Finally, the Armored Gabe skin is now available.
Of course, all of this comes after the optimization patch for Xbox Series X|S consoles which allow for 120fps on the latest console and 4K Ultra resolution on the Series X.
