GeekTyrant Stands With Black Lives Matter

GeekTyrant was founded as a kind of refuge from some of the harsher realities of life. We keep it positive. We write about the movies and TV shows and books and games we like. We have an 11 out of 10 review graphic, and we have used it. We tend to ignore the things we don’t like. We don’t talk about our boring jobs or relationship issues, and we avoid controversy. We shy away from politics. But after this weekend, we cannot remain silent. We cannot ignore what is happening. And we want all of our readers to know that we stand with Black Lives Matter.
Since GeekTyrant keeps it positive, we will not write about how heartbroken we are for for the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and countless other who died senselessly in racist violence. We will not write about our unceasing rage that this happens again and again and again and our leaders lack the courage or the will to implement meaningful change. What we will write is this: To our Black readers, we see you, and we love you. To the protesters who have taken to the streets to express their pain and their rage, we stand with you. To every single person who reads this site, we encourage you to educate yourself on the history of racial violence in this country. We also encourage you to open your mouths and your wallets and take up the work of anti-racism.
As geeks, we have always imagined fantastical, beautiful futures. Let's build one.
