GEN:LOCK Adds Asia Kate Dillon and Golshifteh Farahani to the Voice Cast

Even more actors are joining the cast of gen:LOCK. The latest announcement is that Asia Kate Dillon (Billions, Orange is the New Black) and Golshifteh Farahani (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) have signed on. Dillon’s character is Valentina “Val” Romanyszyn who is “a former Ukrainian covert agent who thought they were done fighting.” Meanwhile, Farahani will play Yasamin “Yaz” Madrani who is described as “a talented and confident recruit from Iran who finds her calling in the gen:LOCK program, but who won’t open up easily about her past.”

In gen:LOCK, Earth’s last free society is on the losing side of a global war, and recruits a diverse team of young pilots to control the next generation of giant, weaponized robot bodies known as mecha. These daring recruits will find, however, that their newfound abilities come at no small cost.

I keep getting more excited about this new mecha show from Rooster Teeth. If you need a reminder of some of the other names attached to the project, we’ve got Michael B. Jordan, Dakota Fanning, David Tennant, and Maisie Williams, just to name a few. The videos below show us what Val and Yaz will look like.

gen:LOCK will premiere in January 2019, on Rooster Teeth.
