Genndy Tartakovsky Has Started Developing His R-Rated Animated Raunchy Comedy FIXED

Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky is about to launch his second season of Primal, and in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, he offered an update on some of his projects. One of those projects is an R-rated film he’s been working on titled Fixed, which he has officially started developing. He shared some details on the film, saying:

“We finally started Fixed, which is the rated-R 2D animated movie about a dog who finds out he's gonna get neutered in the morning, and what does he do with his next 24 hours? That one I've been trying to sell it for 12 years. It's gonna look really good, and it's got heart, but then it's got the super raunch. I've never really seen anything like it.”

It’ll be interesting to see how this film turns out, but I’m sure it’ll be fun! Tartakovsky is a great storyteller. I just think it’s great that Tartakovsky is actually making a raunchy comedy.

Over the years Tartakovsky has tried to get several projects off the ground including a Popeye movie, an Astro Boy reboot, a Dark Crystal sequel, and more. The filmmaker knows how Hollywood is, and he’s trying to make the most of it! He said:

"Look, this is Hollywood. One day, it's anything you want to do. The next day, I can't get a job. I'm still realistic about it. You know, 'Unicorn' was 18 years trying to get it sold, and nobody wanting to believe in it. I got all these babies. If somebody wants to see them grow up, I'm not gonna say no — no matter how busy I am."

Primal Season 2 premieres July 21st, 2022. There’s no release date for Fixed yet.
