Genndy Tartakovsky's PRIMAL Animated Series Explored in Behind-The-Scenes Video
Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal is a phenomenal animated series. If you haven’t watch the first season, you’ve got to check it out because it’s an awesome animated series! If you’ve watched the show, then I’ve got a great behind-the-scenes video that you’ll want to check out. It offers an interesting glimpse at everything that goes into bringing the series to life.
The half-hour animated show is set in prehistoric times and centers around a “caveman at the dawn of evolution” and a “dinosaur on the brink of extinction.” The two characters are bonded by tragedy, and “this unlikely friendship becomes the only hope of survival in a violent, primordial world.”
With suspense, heartbreak, excitement, love and fear all without a single word of dialogue, the series is a painting come to life, relying solely on music and graphic imagery to tell the story of two unlikely allies as they navigate through a treacherous world. After bonding over unfortunate tragedies, they seem to become each other’s only hope of survival against a common enemy.
Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack) and art direction from Scott Wills (The Ren & Stimpy Show, Samurai Jack) discuss the series in the video. Primal has been renewed for a second season, which will consist of 10 additional episodes.
