George Lucas Gets His Own STAR WARS Stormtrooper Black Series Action Figure
Well, this. is cool! Star Wars creator George Lucas is getting his own Star Wars: The Black Series action figure! As you can see, the figure features Lucas all decked out in a Stormtrooper armor, a E-11 Blaster Rifle, and a removable helmet.
The figure is currently up for pre-sale, and it will be released next year for Lucasfilm’s 50th anniversary. The was obviously made to commemorate the creator of Lucasfilm. Pre-orders will go live today at 1:00 pm ET on Amazon.
Vickie Stratford, sr. director of product design at Hasbro, told StarWars.com, “As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I have both the honor and privilege to bring characters from the franchise to life in product form every single day. When the opportunity came to design the George Lucas figure, we were especially excited for this project. This figure is just one of the many ways we can honor his legacy for years to come and we hope fans cherish it as much as we did!”
This isn’t the first George Lucas action figure that has been made. In 2002 a 3.75-inch figure was released as an exclusive at Star Wars Celebration. That was kind of an interesting figure as it was labeled as X-Wing pilot Jorg Sacul. Here are the details of that that one:
Commander Jorg Sacul is renowned for his inner strength, his ability to remain calm under fire, and his mentoring of younger Squadron members. Once a reckless dreamer, his life changed course after a near fatal crash in his T-16 Skyhopper on his homeworld of Tatooine. He went off to the Academy and emerged as the top pilot in his class and a natural leader. A visionary storyteller, he entertains the pilots in his command with far-flung tales of distant galaxies thousands of years before the Republic. Rumored to be Force sensitive, many say Sacul would have become a great Jedi...if only he had been born in a different time.
Lucas’ next figure was 2006’s 3.75-inch The Saga Collection, appearing as a stormtrooper; and then again in 2006 as Baron Papanoida, his character from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in the Lucas Collector’s Set.
