GET OUT Director Jordan Peele is Developing a Social Thriller For Universal Pictures

If you haven't seen Get Out yet, you really need to. It's one of the best films of the year! The director of that film, Jordan Peele has just signed a first-look deal with Universal Pictures and he's already in the process of developing his next movie.

I've always enjoyed Peele's style of comedy and I knew he was a talented guy, but Get Out turned out to be so much more than what I was expecting. After the movie exploded at the box office and was met with critical acclaim, every studio in Hollywood wanted to be in business with him, but Universal is the one that got him.. for at least two years.

The next film he's developing for them is described as a social thriller and he will write, direct, and produce the untitled movie. We don't have any plot details, but it will have a budget that's five times bigger than what he had to make Get Out, which will be around $25 to $30 million. Peele had this to say in a statement:

"I am thrilled to continue the work we started together on Get Out — pushing the boundaries of storytelling, not only on the next film but with all of Monkeypaw’s future projects.”

Even though I have no idea what Peele is planning for his next film, I can't help but be excited for it. He just did such a great job with Get Out and I can't wait to see what he's got cookin' next.
