Get Pumped for June with the Latest STREET FIGHTER 6 Showcase
Capcom recently shared a new Street Fighter 6 Showcase. This was a presentation that lasted for roughly 30 minutes and had a ton of information. You can watch the entire presentation below and I’ll try to summarize the biggest news. There’s news about World Tour, Custom Avatar Battles, Accessibility, and so much more.
When it comes to World Tour, we learned about a new location called Nayshall. It’s a developing nation in a remote area of Asia with iconic Masters for your custom avatar to meet and train with. These Masters include all 18 launch characters and your bond will grow as you give them presents and complete Missions. Some of the new RPG elements added include things like consuming items and food as well as a Skill Tree to customize your move set.
Speaking of custom avatars, you’ll be able to take your avatar from World Tour into Avatar Battles against other players online. This adds a whole new dimension as each avatar will have the ability to mix and match moves from the various Masters such as Zangief’s Screw Piledriver and Ryu’s Hadoken. Let your personal style shine!
Capcom has been working to help increase accessibility for Street Fighter 6. This is present with innovative sound design that will inform you of how far away you are from your opponent, how high attacks are hitting, how much Drive Gauge is left, and more. In addition, players will find Tutorials, Character Guides, and Combo Trials to master the game. There’s also the new Dynamic control type that has an auto-attack button and AI will help assist you in your combos and attacks.
Other items covered include the introduction of Battle Damage in select offline modes, adjustments to Ranked Matches, and you can create your own Club in the Battle Hub for friends and like-minded players. In addition, four new characters will launch over the course of the first year. This summer, Rashid of the Turbulent Wind will arrive. He’ll be followed by A.K.I. this fall, Ed in winter, and Akuma in spring.
You can look forward to playing Street Fighter 6 on June 2 for PC, PS4/5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles (affiliate link) with physical copies available at your favorite retailers including GameStop (affiliate link). If you just can’t wait, a free demo is available to play starting April 26. The demo will have a Tutorial and Character Guides for Luke and Ryu as well as the opening of World Tour and avatar creation. Avatars will be transferable to the full game on the same platform.
