Get Ready for a Roguelike-Metroidvania-Monster Catcher Game in PATCH QUEST This Year

Patch Quest is an upcoming roguelike-Metroidvania fusion with a hint of monster catcher thrown in. The game is developed by the one-man team of Lychee Game Labs and is being published by Curve Games and just got a release window.

The game has been in development for about 7 years and it looks like a lot of care has been put into it. In the game, you’ll play a person who uses their lasso to tame monsters across the land. You can mound and ride every monster in the game which is awesome and each one has special abilities that you’ll get to grow as you progress.

The game features maze-like regions feeding the Metroidvania side of things, but features randomized enemies for fans of Roguelikes.

The game is a delightful yet punishing, beautifully crafted hybrid of game genres that will lasso you in with its fast-paced gameplay and keep you coming back for more. Catch monsters and expand your monster collection to fight your way through a shuffling patchwork maze. Earn exploration gadgets as you play to unlock additional mechanics, collect over 100 plants, unlock gates, open shortcuts and unravel the mystery of Patchlantis.

Patch Quest looks like a lot of fun and is set to leave Steam Early Access on PC this October with a console release planned for 2023. You can watch the video below to learn more about the game.
