GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE Featurette Talks About Reviving the Iconic ECTO-1 Ghostbusting Car

A new featurette has been released from Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which talks about bringing the iconic ghost-busting car, the ECTO-1, back to life for the film. Director Jason Reitman, son of the original Ghostbusters film’s director, Ivan Reitman, says in the clip:

"We all know what it feels like to go into our grandparents basement or attic looking for something special, and that's what I want the audience to feel like. Because that's how we discover Ecto-1. It's as though Ecto-1 has been sitting in your garage or out back the whole time, and you didn't even realize it."

The film definitely portrayed a very fun nostalgic feeling when Finn Wolfhard’s character Trevor happened upon this hidden treasure in his grandpa’s garage. The film’s production designer François Audouy says in the clip that they used two fully working ECTO-1 cars in the movie that were stock with all the original details. They definitely made the film so exciting, and it was cool to see the functions of the car through these kids’ eyes.

Check out the featurette below, and watch Ghostbusters: Afterlife available now on digital, and on Blu-ray and 4K on February 1st.
