GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE Sequel in Development Under the Working Title FIREHOUSE and It's Set in New York City
Some more big and exciting Ghostbusters movie news has dropped on Ghostbusters Day! The sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife is in development under the working title Firehouse, and the story will be set in New York City! You know what that means! The original iconic headquarters of the Ghostbusters is going to be one of the main settings of the movie! How cool is that!?
Jason Reitman is returning to direct and he said: "The last time we saw Ecto-1, it was driving back into Manhattan: the home of Ghostbusters. That's where our story begins. The code name is FIREHOUSE."
There are no details on the story to share, but what we do know is enough to get fans excited for what’s coming! I loved Ghostbusters: Afterlife and I can’t wait to see what this next chapter of the story has in store for the fans! Gil Kenan is returning to write the script for the film with Reitman.
A Ghostbusters comic book series was also announced that will be coming from Dark Horse, and it will bridge the gap between Afterlife and the upcoming sequel.
It was also confirmed that the Ghostbusters animated film is still in development with Sony Pictures Animation. Reitman and Kenan are producing with Chris Prynoski (executive producer, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe) and Jennifer Kluska (Hotel Transylvania: Transformania) set to direct. Brenda Hsueh (supervising producer, Disjointed) is writing the series.
I’m excited for the future of Ghostbusters! What do you think!?
