G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS Come Together in Trailer For Skybound's ENERGON UNIVERSE Trailer
Skybound has released a trailer introducing us to the Energon Universe. That trailer features details about the publisher's plans for new Transformers and G.I. Joe comics.
Skybound announced its plans for G.I. Joe and Transformers following the release of Void Rivals #1, which was a crossover event comic that brought in G.I. Joe and Transformers as a surprise addition.
Skybound said in the announcement: "Welcome to the Energon Universe. In the far reaches of space, Void Rivals introduces two warring races fighting on a new planet and a hero rises. At the same time, the Transformers robots awaken on Earth. But will the heroic Autobots save the world, or will the evil Decepticons doom the planet? The Robots in Disguise are back, in an all-new shared universe like never before. But their return is only half the battle."
Planned comics for Skybound's Energon Universe include a new Transformers title coming from writer and artist Daniel Warren Johnson, which follows the Autobots and Decepticons as they seek out the truth of what happened to the planet Cybertron.
There are also several GI Joe titles planned, including a story that focuses on Duke, from writer Joshua Williamson and artists Tom Reilly and Jordie Bellaire. This limited series finds Duke investigating the origins of the Transformers on Earth while the G.I. Joe organization was being set up.
Another limited series involves Cobra Commander, which comes from writer Joshua Williamson and artist Andrea Milana and that story deals with the origins of Cobra and their interest in the mysterious substance known as Energon.
This all sounds interesting as they are rebooting the origins of G.I. Joe and Cobra to correspond with the Transformers arriving on Earth. It’s also centered around the battle of Energon. Are you excited about this?
