GIGER Comic Series Getting Series Adaptation From Geoff Johns and Justin Simien
Image Comics bestselling series Geiger, created by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, is set to be adapted as a series. Justin Simien (Dear White People, The Haunted Mansion) is set to direct.
The story is set in the year 2050, and it “centers around a radioactive family man named Tariq Geiger who spends his days and nights doing anything he must to protect the fallout shelter housing his family. When Geiger fights off a group of violent scavengers, he faces the wrath of the criminal empire they are connected to.”
Johns will executive produce the series, write the pilot, and serve as showrunner alongside Jamie Iracleanos for Mad Ghost and Gary Frank. The project is also executive produced by Kyle Laursen, and Simien, who recently signed a three-year overall deal with Paramount Television Studios, via Simien’s Culture Machine production company.
If done right, this series could be pretty awesome. Are you familiar with the comic? Is this a story you’d want to see adapted as a series?
