Gillian Anderson and Asa Buttlerfield Set to Star in Netflix's SEX EDUCATION
The X-Files star Gillian Anderson is set to star in a new original series from Netflix called Sex Education. She will play a sex therapist in the series, and she will star alongside Ender's Game actor Asa Butterfield who will play her son. Here are the plot details on what is described as a coming-of-awkward-age dramedy:
Butterfield plays Otis Thompson, a socially awkward high school virgin who lives with his sex therapist mother. He teams up with “whip-smart bad-girl” Maeve to set up a clinic to deal with their fellow students’ weird and wonderful problems.
The series was created by newcomer Laurie Nunn, and it will be released in 2019. The series also stars Ncuti Gatwa (Stonemouth), Connor Swindells (Harlots) and Kedar Williams-Stirling (Will).
Anderson is a fan-favorite actress and Butterfield is a talented young actor. This should be a good project for them to be a part of, especially with Netflix producing so much great original content. They seem to know the kinds of shows that their audience wants to see.
