Gillian Anderson Set to Play Margaret Thatcher in THE CROWN Season 4

The Crown has cast Gillian Anderson as its Margaret Thatcher, who will appear in season four of the hit Netflix show. The series has only aired two seasons, but was renewed for seasons three and four in 2017. The cast has had its share of Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and wins, but they’ve also made incredible choices with the supporting cast of guest stars, including John Lithgow as Winston Churchill.

Anderson is best known for her role as Dana Scully in The X-Files, but has also been seen in many other TV and film projects, including most recently, The Spy Who Dumped Me and Netflix’s Sex Education. I think Anderson is a great choice for the Iron Lady, Margaret Thatcher. Both are poised and powerful women, and I actually see a resemblance to Thatcher, who made history as Britain’s first female Prime Minister. She served as such from 1979 to 1990.

The Crown season three will air sometime this year, and we will let you know when we hear news of it’s release date, as well as the date of season four. Are you a fan of The Crown? Are you happy to hear this casting news?
