Gina Carano and Ed Skrein Discuss Angel Dust and Ajax in DEADPOOL Movie
Deadpool made a huge impression at Comic-Con this weekend, and there's no doubt that fans are going to get everything they hoped to get out of this movie. If it does well at the box office, it will pave the way for more R-rated comic book films.
IGN had the opportunity to interview Ed Skrein and Gina Carano about Deadpool. They play the villains Ajax and Angel Dust in the story, and they opened up a little bit about their characters:
"The program that we run is very similar to Weapon X, in that we take terminally-ill soldiers and we give them superpowers. Ajax and Angel Dust went through that process themselves and now we run the program and we're the people that changed Wade Wilson into Deadpool."
Carano goes on to talk about the backstory of the characters that she and Skrein developed for the story:
"We decided Ajax kind of found her. Angel Dust will only listen to Ajax. I'm like a horse rearing to go and he pretty much has the reins."
Skrein jumped in to discuss the relationship between the character a little more:
"We really wanted people to not know whether we were Brother and Sister, lovers, whether it is a teacher-pupil situation almost like a pimp and prostitute situation, for want of a better word."
Carano jokingly chimed in to say that Skrein was the prostitute in this situation. We didn't get a huge amount of information on these characters from the Comic-Con footage, but it was enough to sell me on the fact that they are going to be awesome.
