Gina Rodriguez is Set To Star in a New Film Titled THE ALIENS ARE STEALING OUR WEED
Paramount Pictures has acquired the spec script for a new film project titled The Aliens Are Stealing Our Weed and Gina Rodriguez is attached to star in and produce it.
The script comes from the writer of Marvel’s Eternals, Ryan Firpo, and the story follows Candice (Rodriguez) and Izzy, “two hapless pot growers who, after their entire crop of weed inexplicably goes missing, uncover an alien conspiracy to steal the planet’s marijuana supply.”
According to studio insiders, they felt the story “fell in line with other Paramount comedies like Anchorman, Airplane! and Blazing Saddles”, and they moved quickly to acquire it.
This sounds like it’ll shape up to be a wild and crazy comedy. Other than Annihilation, I’ve never really seen anything else that Rodriguez has starred in such as Jane the Virgin, the action-thriller Miss Bala, and Netflix’s romantic comedy Someone Great. She was most recently seen in Kajillionaire for Annapurna Pictures. This sounds like something I’d watch, though!
