GIRL WITH NO NAME is a Western Adventure Being Developed as a Movie and Comic Series

Girl With No Name is an upcoming movie and comic book from Co-Op Entertainment and Legion M. It was announced at New York Comic Con and looks to be a “female-led Western action-adventure movie.” That sounds like it could be really cool, and I tried confirming if this was attached to an existing property, but I couldn’t find anything that matched. This may be a very rare opportunity for us to support an original film! Girl With No Name is being produced by Co-Op’s Laura Ivey with Tanya Wexler serving as director.

In addition to the film, Legion M will be publishing a 40-page comic book so that we can become acquainted with the world and hero. Dave Elliot from AtomekART is developing the comic alongside Wexler which will adapt the movie’s screenplay from Alex Ranarivelo. Dani Strips will be providing interior artwork for the comic while the cover and promotional poster will be illustrated by Tula Lotay.

Ivey and Wexler from Co-Op issued the following statement:

Girl With No Name exceeds a passion project, it is an empowering narrative that needs to be told. We cannot wait to bring The Girl to the big screen, and we’re excited to be teaming with Legion M and its passionate fan-owners on this very special endeavor.

Legion M’s Terri Lubaroff has this to say:

We are thrilled to bring Girl With No Name to life – both as a feature film and in the pages of a revolutionary comic book led by a group of incredibly brilliant artists — and we’re proud to have the franchise star a strong female lead developed by a team of extremely talented women. Girl With No Name is particularly special for Legion M as the title represents our first foray into publishing, and we’re executive producing our second feature film with Co-Op Entertainment as an amazing partner.

The comic is currently scheduled for a release in Spring 2019. Pre-orders will be available on the official Legion M website. Legion M and Co-Op are currently working on acquiring investment and distribution partners for the film.
