Glen Powell Runs for His Life in Edgar Wright’s Explosive New Trailer for THE RUNNING MAN

Paramount Pictures has released a new high-octane trailer for Edgar Wright’s upcoming sci-fi thriller The Running Man, and it’s a wild ride from start to finish.

The film marks Wright’s return to feature filmmaking after Last Night in Soho, and it looks like it’s going to be and intense and stylish action movie experience.

Based on the 1982 novel by Stephen King, The Running Man takes place in a dystopian future where the government manipulates the media and the poor are driven to desperate measures for survival.

Glen Powell stars as Ben Richards, a man who volunteers to compete in a brutal reality game show where contestants are hunted by professional killers. If he survives 30 days, he’ll win enough money to save his sick child and pull his family out of poverty.

The trailer showcases Wright’s trademark kinetic energy, with explosive action sequences, cool visuals, and sharp social commentary. The final moments features Richards navigating a booby-trapped house rigged with insane, over-the-top death traps, and it look like pure cinematic chaos. It’s Wright’s signature mix of tension, satire, and stylish mayhem.

The film also boasts a cast that includes Katy O'Brian, Daniel Ezra, Karl Glusman, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Jayme Lawson, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, David Zayas, Sean Hayes, and Colman Domingo.

The movie was directed by Edgar Wright, with a screenplay that he wrote with Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 21 Jump Street).

This marks the second adaptation of King’s story, the first being the 1987 cult classic starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, but this new take looks far more faithful to the novel’s darker, more politically charged tone.

Paramount will release The Running Man in theaters worldwide on November 14, 2025.
