Gnarly New Trailer For SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT Remake Brings Back the Killer Santa
The holiday season just got a whole lot more disturbing with the release of the official trailer for Cineverse’s upcoming remake of the 1984 cult horror classic Silent Night, Deadly Night.
The new version promises to deliver a darker, bloodier, and completely unrated vision of Christmas terror that’s sure to shake up even the most seasoned horror fans.
“In 1984, one film shocked audiences, was banned from theaters, and traumatized a generation. From the studio that brought you Terrifier 3, comes a new, and unrated, vision of the cult classic. This Christmas, spread the holiday fear.”
Directed and written by Mike P. Nelson, known for The Domestics, Wrong Turn, and a segment in V/H/S/8, this reimagining follows the same chilling setup as the original.
A young boy named Billy witnesses his parents’ brutal murder on Christmas Eve by a man dressed as Santa Claus. Years later, scarred by trauma and consumed by rage, Billy slips into the red suit himself, turning Christmas into a night of vengeance and bloodshed.
The synopsis reads: “A reimagining of the controversial 1984 cult horror classic (directed by Charles E. Sellier Jr) – When Billy witnesses his parents’ grisly murder on Christmas Eve at the hands of Santa, it ignites a lifelong mission to spread holiday fear.
“Every Christmas, he dons the jolly red suit and delivers a blood-soaked massacre to feed his twisted sense of justice. This Christmas Eve, Billy wants to know: ‘Have you been naughty?’”
The film stars Rohan Campbell, Ruby Modine, Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson, with production handled by Erik Bernard, Scott Schneid, Jamie R. Thompson, Jeremy Torrie, and Dennis Whitehead.
The trailer teases brutal kills, snowy carnage, and a tone dripping with bloody dread. It’s a full-on nightmare wrapped in tinsel and soaked in blood. Nelson’s take looks grittier and meaner than ever, promising a chilling blend of old-school slasher energy with modern horror intensity.
Cineverse will unleash Silent Night, Deadly Night in select theaters starting December 12th, 2025, just in time to ruin your cozy holiday cheer.
