Heart-wrenching.

There are almost no words for how hard this hit me. I won't spoil here, but watch the episode (via Machinima) and judge for yourself. The crew at DC Animation are able to do with ease and elegance what many live action studios and directors only wish they could, which is delivering focused storytelling along with emotionally-charged performances. The familiar tale of Superman vs. Braniac takes on a whole new tone here, and truth be told there are so many feelings to unpack that, well, I'm a bit speechless. Not sure why, but that really hit me hard.

Ironically, Superman's was the one I was looking forward to least, but it has set the bar quite high for Wonder Woman. Check back in on Friday for my impressions on her Gods and Monsters Chronicles debut.
