JUSTICE LEAGUE: GODS AND MONSTERS CHRONICLES — Wonder Woman Impressions

This was a bit of a mixed bag for me.

It was the one I was most looking forward to, and yet because of that, it had the most room to disappoint. Let's start with the positives. I absolutely love how confident they made Wonder Woman (they never refer to her as Diana, so I don’t want to make assumptions), and she should be, because she is one of deadliest people in the world. Her power set has been tweaked, as it appears — possibly by way of motherbox — that she can duck into and out of boom tubes at will. She’s beautiful, powerful, and has a really stylish costume. Alll good things.

And yet, for some reason, she is attracted to Steve McToolbagTrevor.

(Offscreen) I don’t think that's his name...

WELL, IT SHOULD BE!

She literally just saved you from a gunshot to the head. Don’t get me wrong, I get not wanting to be saved and rom-com banter, but he really just came off as a sexist tool. I did enjoy the scene where she leaned against the wall, letting him fend for himself. Yes Trevor, the giant robot woman can crush everything in her path, but some bullets from your twin automatic rifles will stop it. Good job Steve, good job.

Look, I’m not trying to be a prude here, and I have no problem with Wonder Woman being confident and the aggressor in the relationship (towards the end anyway), far from it. I just couldn't help but think “really? him?” after the credits rolled.

Justice League: Gods & Monsters on 7.28 Pre-order BD Combo today! http://amzn.to/1JzbhA5 Set in an alternate universe where Wonder Woman is actually the New God Bekka, the warrior goddess must take on a horde of Kobra soldiers to save her friend with benefits, Steve Trevor.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of Wonder Woman in the full movie, as I really enjoyed this take on her character I just hope her time in the movie is not completely wasted on some bland romance with a tool who doesn’t deserve her.
