GODZILLA MINUS ONE is The Third Highest Grossing International Movie in U.S. Box Office History

Toho’s Godzilla Minus One is back in U.S. theaters with its brand new black & white version that fans have been enjoying, and the movie has now crossed over $55 MILLION in total U.S. box office, making it the #3 Highest Grossing Foreign Language Film in U.S. history!

Godzilla Minus One has passed the films Hero ($53.7 million) and Parasite ($53.3) to take that number three spot. The critically acclaimed film’s worldwide total currently stands at $102.6 million. The two international films that are ahead of Godzilla Minus One at the U.S. box office are:

#1 – Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon – $128.5 million (U.S.)

#2 – Life Is Beautiful – $57.5 million (U.S.)

There’s still a chance that Godzilla Minus One could take the number two spot as it’s only $2.5 million shy of surpassing Life is Beautiful. But, the movie only has a few days left in theaters, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Toho’s Godzilla Minus One was written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, and it sees an already devastated post-World War II Japan facing off with Godzilla as it lays on more chaos and destruction. I’m exciting to see how the story continues with the sequel, which will eventually get made.
