GODZILLA MINUS ZERO Reveals a Monster-Sized Godzilla Popcorn Bucket

Forget the large popcorn. Godzilla Minus Zero may be bringing one of the biggest movie theater popcorn buckets ever created, and this thing looks less like a concession stand collectible and more like someone dropped a full-blown Godzilla statue on the counter.

Takashi Yamazaki’s upcoming sequel to Godzilla Minus One is already going big ahead of its theatrical release. Godzilla Minus Zero is set to become the first Japanese film shot on IMAX with an international wide release in mind, and its distributors apparently decided the merchandise needed to match that scale.

At EXPOCINE26 in São Paulo, Brazilian distributor Sato Company revealed the official Godzilla Minus Zero collectible popcorn bucket. Rather than simply putting Godzilla’s face on a plastic tub, they went all the way and created a highly detailed sculpt of the King of the Monsters himself.

The popcorn goes into a small opening on Godzilla’s back, which makes the whole thing feel more like an impressive display piece that just happens to hold your movie snacks. The sculpt is loaded with detail and looks better than plenty of Godzilla action figures out there.

Its size, however, is what really caught people’s attention. There aren’t any official measurements yet, but fans who saw the Godzilla Minus Zero popcorn bucket at the event have suggested it could be the largest collectible popcorn bucket ever made.

The bucket was developed by Golden Link, the same manufacturer responsible for the enormous Galactus head popcorn bucket released for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which previously set a world record.

High-resolution video of the Godzilla bucket was shared by Jacqueline Sato and Victor Akira Sato, while additional photos came courtesy of Thiago Medeiros, giving fans a much better look at just how massive and detailed this monster really is.

There’s also good news for Godzilla collectors outside Brazil. Sato Company has confirmed that the Godzilla Minus Zero popcorn bucket won’t be exclusive to the country.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know which theater chains will offer it internationally or how much this giant chunk of radioactive plastic will cost. Considering the size of the thing, carrying it through a crowded theater might be an adventure of its own.

Regardless, Godzilla fans are probably going to want this beast on their shelves. If it really does claim the title of the world’s biggest collectible popcorn bucket, that feels pretty appropriate for the King of the Monsters.

Godzilla Minus Zero stomps into theaters everywhere on November 6.
