GOLDENEYE 007 Hits Nintendo Switch This Week

In 2022, gamers were told that the classic console FPS experience GoldenEye 007 was going to be available to play on Nintendo Switch through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass service. Now, we have a release date. It was recently announced that you can play GoldenEye starting January 27. This port of the game will be pretty much the exact game you remember although it will feature online multiplayer to relive those late night games with friends and roommates from back in the day virtually. I know this is a very exciting moment for many fans, so what’s your favorite memory of playing GoldenEye?

Enter a world of espionage as Bond in GoldenEye 007. Your covert operation to stop the GoldenEye weapon satellite spans the globe – you’ll infiltrate underground bases, charge through a military train and slink around the depths of a jungle. Along the way, M will brief you on your objectives and Q Branch will support your efforts with an array of gadgets, but the ultimate success of this mission is yours alone. Save the day, then go for the gold in spy-vs-spy action locally** or online in the four-player multiplayer mode and enjoy round after round of first-person competitive action.

Sadly, the experience is limited to NSO + EP through the Nintendo 64 emulator. There is a remastered version coming to Xbox consoles, but it will not have online multiplayer. The bright side is that NSO + EP also provides you with access to other N64 titles, a SEGA Genesis library, and select DLC for popular Nintendo games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing New Horizons. Does the addition of GoldenEye help sell it better to you?
