GOOD OMENS Season 2 Gets a New Featurette That Takes You Behind The Scenes of The Neil Gaimen Series
Amazon prime video has released a new featurette for Good Omens Season 2, which takes you behind the scenes of the series with the cast and crew talking about what we can expect from the next chapter of the story. Showrunner Douglas Mackinnon explains: “If season one is a comedy about the end of the world, season two is a comedy about the beginning of everything else.”
The featurette is one of more than a dozen exclusive behind-the-scenes videos that will be released via Prime Video’s X-Ray feature leading up to the July 28 Season Two launch.
This looks like it’s going to be a fun continuation of the story. Check out the video below!
The new six-episode season will “explore storylines that go beyond the original source material to illuminate the uncanny friendship between Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), a fussy angel and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley (David Tennant). Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and with the Apocalypse thwarted, Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to easy living amongst mortals in London’s Soho when an unexpected messenger presents a surprising mystery.”
In the story, “Aziraphale and Crowley are getting back to normal, living in London among mortals, when a new angel—Muriel—shows up unexpectedly at their doorstep. The angel (and new angel) and demon will have to solve a mystery before they can get back to their domestic lives together.”
The series also stars Derek Jacobi (Gladiator) reprising his role of Metatron, and joining him is Dame Siân Phillips (Dune). Also returning this season are Mark Gatiss (Sherlock), Steve Pemberton (Killing Eve), and Reece Shearsmith (Inside No. 9) in the roles of Mr. Harmony, Mr. Glozier, and William Shakespeare. Jon Hamm’s archangel Gabriel.
Niamh Walsh (The English Game) also returns, and joining the series in new roles are Tim Downie (Outlander), Pete Firman (The Magicians), Andi Osho (I May Destroy You), and Alex Norton (Pirates of the Caribbean).
Other cast members include Miranda Richardson, Maggie Service, Nina Sosanya, Doon Mackichan, Gloria Obianyo, Liz Carr, Quelin Sepulveda, and Shelley Conn.
Gaiman will continue as executive producer and co-showrunner along with executive producer Douglas Mackinnon, who has returned to direct all six episodes.
The second season is set to premiere on July 28th.
