Google May Be Announcing a New Game Console at GDC

This year’s Game Developer Conference will run from March 18 to March 22. There should be some cool announcements this year, and the one that many are especially hyped for is from Google. Google will give a keynote presentation on March 19 at 10 AM PT, and fans are going nuts with what the latest rumor is. Rumor has it that Google is going to be announcing their very own video game console to compete with Nintendo, Playstation, and Xbox. According to CB, Google’s announcement came from an invite that said “Gather Around” with a mysterious dark hallway picture.

There are also reports that Google is working on a game streaming platform with the codename Yeti that works with Chromecast, but that could also easily be adapted to a console if that’s what their plan is.

Google has also been working on Project Stream which is an amazing concept that hopefully becomes a reality soon. It would allow you to play pretty much any game on any device with Google Chrome without needing powerful specifications. The games would essentially be streamed to your screen via Chrome, and it sounds amazing and would make getting a Chromebook a much more likely option for a lot of people I know.

What do you think Google’s announcement will be? Have they been working on a secret new game console?
